When the Lord Became Mine

Like a sheep upon a mountain, so lost, deserved to die.
Surrounded by the darkness, for His mercy I did cry.
And the Shepherd came a-seeking, His lost sheep to find.
Put me on His shoulders, whispered, this Lamb is mine.

Chorus: Do you wonder why I’m happy, by grace could take the blame?
Do you wonder why my heart sings when I hear His blessed name.
He became my Good Samaritan when He poured in oil and wine.
From my rags to His riches, when the Lord became mine.

As the Prodigal sinner, so steeped in all my pride.
But grace became the conqueror and my sin I could not hide.
But the Father had compassion, and He ran to my relief.
He brought me the best robe, and the Lord became mine.
